The Carlson Fable Collection is a gathering of primary fable materials at Reinert Alumni Memorial Library at Creighton University. It grew out of the personal collection of fable materials gathered by Rev. Gregory Carlson, S.J. and was given to the Creighton Libraries in 1996. A manilla folder with the word "CONVENT" in red ink. The contents of the folder inlcude: a sheet of paper titled "Repertoire des religieuses du couvent de notre mere des afflictions" (Directory of the nuns of the convent of our mother of afflictions), which appears to be a list of the characters, and a copy of "Sisters of the Crucifixion," a rough draft of Ron Hansen's novel "Mariette of Ecstasy.

The surprise with these button cards is that the fable illustration – clearly taken from one of La Fontaine's most beloved fables in each case – has nothing perceptible to do with the buttons! The fable is never named. The verso provides either the lot number, always beginning with "975-22" but then varying for two further digits, or these lot numbers plus a short promotion of the buttons in French and English.
